Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window

A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.

"The jet touched down in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.

This incident does not mark the initial instance that a American defense plane ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.

Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
