Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour towards women.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
